2022 has fantastic things in store for all of us, so there’s a lot to be thrilled about, especially from March 2022 onwards. Of course, things don’t always improve in the blink of an eye.
The topic for January 2022 is rebirth. January is the month of transition – from what 2021 has delivered us to the delicious promises that await us on the other side of the dark Pluto tunnel of metamorphosis.
The most significant astrological event of the month is the Lunar Nodes changing signs: the North Node enters Taurus and the South Node enters Scorpio.
Because the Lunar Nodes only change signs once every year and a half, this ingress is critical because it will stimulate entirely new regions of our existence. What was essential to us in the previous 18 months while the Nodes were in Gemini and Sagittarius will now take a back seat as fresh topics demand our attention.
The Pluto conjunctions with our own planets are another major subject in January. With two Venus-Pluto conjunctions in December 2021, we have got a taste of Pluto.
Mercury is in a conjunction orb with Pluto for virtually the whole month of January 2022, and we also have our monthly Sun-Pluto conjunction on January 16th, 2022.
This is a significant amount of Pluto energy! We had a stellium in Capricorn in 2020, so this Plutonic energy is not wholly new to us, but there is a significant difference today.
We had the outer planets in Capricorn in 2020. The energy of the earth is communal and beyond our control. Life was thrown at us.
However, in January 2022, the personal planets — Mercury, Venus, and the Sun – are transformed by Pluto’s purgatory fire. Things are increasingly becoming more personal, altering us on a fundamental, identity level.
This is a powerful rejuvenation energy that invites you to dig to the root of who you truly are in order to realize your actual strength, free of Ego. Pluto wants you to transform in ways you’ve never done before, Pluto wants you to go all the way… It’s either now or never.
These conjunctions occur in Capricorn, and Capricorn represents structural transformation. It is not simply a few things that will alter here and there; it is about rearranging everything on a fundamental basis. On the other side of Pluto’s change, a whole new YOU will emerge.
January 2022 is a changeover month. There is optimism on the horizon, but we must first undertake some crucial work. Venus and Mercury are both retrograde in the underworld, dealing with issues that have been deeply buried yet require our attention now.
